NEW NASTAR Center Website Going LIVE on Monday, September 21st!!

New NASTAR Center website

Can I get a drum roll please…….

The NASTAR Center is very excited to announce the unveiling of its new, updated website (www.nastarcenter.com) on Monday, September 21st, 2009. The new website will feature flash animation, cutting-edge interactive media, great graphics and a stunning new design layout.

However, due to the sophisticated nature of this new website, the new NASTAR site may require you to upgrade your web browser if you have Internet Explorer 6 (IE6) or earlier versions. Because the web industry evolves at such a rappid pace, there are continually new tools being implemented that provide content in exciting new ways. To support this fact, it is common knowledge that within a few months, most popular internet sites, such as YouTube, Google, Digg and Yahoo will also not be supporting Internet Explorer 6 (IE6) and earlier versions.

To learn more about why NASTAR and others are upgrading, read this article: http://www.isitedesign.com/insight-blog/09_08/goodnight-ie6

(to find out what version you currently have, open your internet browser and click HELP from the top toolbar. Then select “About Internet Explorer”(or other).  If you see that you have IE6 or an earlier version, you should take the opportunity to upgrade now to one of the following recommended browsers below…)

Press Release -For Immediate Release

Southampton, PA, September 10, 2009. Environmental Tectonics Corporation’s (NYSE ALTERNEXT US: ETC) (“ETC” or the “Company”) Simulation Division in Orlando, FL announced they will offer a free day of training to local first responders on their Advanced Disaster Management Simulator (ADMS).

To commemorate President Obama’s proclamation of September as National Preparedness Month, ETC Simulation would like to take this opportunity to give back to the community and honor  the country’s endeavors to prepare for and mitigate potential disasters.

Wednesday, September 30th 2009, from 10AM - 4PM, ETC Simulation Division in Orlando, FL will open their doors to local responders and host a full day of training with ADMS, utilizing their state-of-the-art facility, which includes a 180 degree immersive theatre-like screen.  This training session will provide local responders an opportunity to use high end simulation in place of their typical table top training.

ADMS is a Virtual Reality simulation training stage that provides a true-to-life experience for first responders to train, assess and exercise Incident Command and vehicle operation.  ADMS simulates emergencies, disasters and other events in which first responders cannot typically train live.  The benefits of the ADMS simulation based training are that a high level of proficiency can be achieved in a short time, it is easy to organize, and is a green solution.  Without the wear and tear on resources, training can be done at a fraction of the cost of live exercises.

ETC Simulation would like to thank all of our first responders who continue to make our world a safe place to live.  We truly value and honor your continued commitment, sacrifice and service.

Environmental Tectonics Corporation IRB Gets Confirmation from NASA Langley IRB

- Press Release -

Southampton, PA. May 20, 2009. Environmental Tectonics Corporation (NYSE AMEX LLC: ETC) (“ETC” or the “Company”) announced that on March 6, 2009,  following two days of review, ETC received confirmation of acceptance of the ETC Institutional Review Board (IRB) proceedings from the NASA Langley IRB.

This approval demonstrates ETC’s and its NASTAR Center’s capability to conduct research in a manner consistent with Federal procedures and regulations regarding human subjects.

In efforts to complete an aircraft Upset Recovery research project funded by NASA Langley and to mature research processes as a whole, ETC entered into a grant agreement that required review by an Institutional Review Board (IRB). ETC elected to form and go through the process to certify an Institutional Review Board (IRB). The function of the IRB is to ensure that The NASTARSM Center protects the safety, health, privacy, and welfare of human subjects who participate in The NASTARSM Center research projects in accordance with the regulations and policies prescribed by the Code of Federal Regulations for the Protection of Human Subjects and NASA Policy Directives for the Protection of Human Research Subjects. ETC was required to go through a formal application process with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and to conduct training of the IRB members to certify the IRB. IRB review is required for research that involves participation by human subjects.

On February 16th, 2009 the ETC IRB officially convened to approve the Upset Recovery research to be conducted under the grant funded by NASA Langley. The IRB approved all aspects of the experiment. The grant also required that any ETC IRB proceedings also be approved by the NASA Langley IRB. ETC received confirmation of acceptance of IRB proceedings following only two days of review. This demonstrated ETC and The NASTAR Center’s capability not only to conduct research but to do so in a manner consistent with Federal procedures and regulations regarding human subjects. In addition, future customers now have the option of having their research approved at ETC rather than going through the process of convening their own costly IRB process.

William F. Mitchell, ETC’s President and Chairman, stated, “The accepted findings of ETC’s IRB are an important step in establishing The NASTARSM Center as a world class training and research facility.”
